Mane Sensation: Ncutie105

Meet Ncutie105!This is one of my Natural Hair inspirations from fotki that I really wanted to feature on my blog. I hope you enjoy her interview. I know I sure did. I hope that she experiences even more success on her Natural Hair Journey because I sure am learning a lot, and I'm loving the hair that I'm seeing!

How long have you been natural?
I started to transition in April 2008 and I did the Big Chop on March 7th, 2009.

What inspired you to go natural?
I have always felt the urge to go natural, especially in high school. My aunt and I had planned to go natural and start locks together, unfortunately she passed before we could ever get it started. Five years later, after the damage from the relaxers really kicked in, I decided I was through with relaxers and I began transitioning.

Sunday StyleWatch: Rockin' a TWA!!!

OK....June 5th....I'm almost positive (but by now ya'll should realize that I'm indecisive and change my mind a lot) I plan to BC and enjoy all my naturalness! I've been really busy in the last couple of weeks. Me and my friends started a blog...called Dreams Of Love, Life, and Success (D.O.L.L.S.)... We're trying to send a positive message out into the world, and we plan to do big things! In the mean time, I've been stalking youtube to find styles that will work for me when I BC this summer! And here is one that caught my eye by IntheTikiLounge!

Sunday StyleWatch: Twist-outs!

Twist outs are natural sets that can free your hair! Hair is set by twisting hair while wet, and the twists you create can actually be worn as a style all on their own! When worn for a couple of days, a new style is born as you untwist your natural hair and rock a twist out! Boy oh Boy I can't wait! Mahogany Curls had a great video about this....ENJOY!

Happy Sunday!

What's Your Favorite Natural Hairstyle??? Your "in-case-of-emergency-style"???

Everyone has one of those days...the dreaded bad hair day!! So what's your just in case style that you can whip up in two seconds or less and still manage to be the flyest belle at the ball!!!

Trust and believe...I will be style snatchin'! I need as many hairstyle ideas for myself when I BC...because I know myself way too well! I always end up making a mad dash for it in the morning time...but I still try to look like it took me hours to get ready. ;)

Sunday StyleWatch: Senegalese Twists

After I BC in December, this is the first style I want to throw my tresses in! I want to spend a year after I BC doing the Crown and Glory Method so I can focus on hair health and hair growth without styling my natural hair so much. Plus, I'm sure I'll have the Winter Hair Blues by then, anyway so...we'll see how it goes! Until then I will be stalking Youtube for Styles to Watch and Styles that I need to learn when I start styling my natural hair!

Below is a tutorial on Senegalese Twists for all you DIYers out there! Enjoy!

Dye-namic Decisions

Ok...I just dyed my hair jet black! It's not permanent! Thank Heavens!!! It's only a rinse...I have yet another sew-in. I just did it yesterday, and I will continue to do my aloe rinses just not as often as I would have liked to do them. That is all...lol I'm out! HHG! Here's a pic of my style!

And here is a tutorial video about applying a color rinse! I had no idea how to do this at all...so a BIG THANK YOU goes to MissLaShonda on YT!

Style Profile...

Okay...since my last post (which was soooooooo long ago), I have been wearing a halfwig that's styled into a shoulder length bob. It's driving me crazy, though. I prefer sew-ins because I don't want to deal with my hair at all right now! I'm so...BUSY! Anywho, I will be doing a sew-in next week, and this time I hope it will last me 8 to 9 weeks. The curly weave I had before did not cut it for me. Better luck next time--I suppose. I will post pictures assuming that I actually like the way my hair looks! This is what I'm going for:

* I don't want it to be so bluntly cut, though. We'll see how it turns out!*

I'm planning to do protective styles until December 29! I'm excited because I'm going to BC on that day as well. I hope this personal challenge brings me lots of healthy new growth!

In other news, I'm still trying to figure out how to regrow my edges so if anyone has any ideas, I'm all EARS. I've been using Profectiv's products designed to regrow hair every day and TWICE a day...I'm going to use it faithfully until I don't have any more left so hopefully, I'll see some growth. Until then I'll be extremely careful with my fragile edges!

Mane.Maven of the Month: Lisa Arrindell Anderson

Okay, so…I was watching Madea’s Family Reunion last night, and let me just say natural hair was definitely on the scene. I never really noticed that there were so many natural-headed sisters in the movie, but oh well. I love that movie, but for some reason I was more excited about the different hairstyles I saw Lisa Arrindell Anderson rocking so….she’s my first Mane.Maven of the Month! Her hair looks so soft and fluffy, and the twists she wore in the movie were so cute! Her hair is fierce, and if my natural days are half that stunning, I can hardly wait!

Anyway, her styling secret appears to be the product Saniyyah Naturally. She’s been using their starter kit for years now, and according to her, no one does it better than them! The PJ in me had to stalk their site, and now I’m itching to buy something! I’m trying to hold out ‘til the summer, though. I wanna use up some of the products I already have in my hair stash before I add to my collection! :)

In a Perfect Style: Ms. Keri Baby!

I can't help but notice her dramatic style changes since her album debut, "In a Perfect World." I mean, wouldn't your world be perfect if you had fly hair 24/7? Anywho, she's always had an edgy style, but I must say that I fell in love with her blunt bob she flaunted on red carpets and in the video shoot for her debut single, "Energy." I was slightly turned off with her crop cut for the second single "Turn Me On", though, but she eventually won me over again with her Medicine in Plies' new video. Ms. Keri Baby is definitely a Million Dollar Girl with one-of-a-kind style that all eyes--including mine--seem to catch. ;)

My Textured Tresses

Okay, so...It's been a week since I put my sew-in in, and my hair's doing alright from what I can tell. I'm still undecided on what my mane regimen will be, but I know that I'll be using sew-ins as a protective style to help me transition no matter what. This is actually my first time using curly weave so we'll see how this goes. I wanted to try something different, and hopefully it will last me 8 weeks. I used Brandy's Hair line with Outre Pro10. The style is Bohemian Curl. What do you think? I thought the curly texture would let me blend my new growth better and help me get used to my natural hair at the same time.

Happy Hair Growing and Hair Reading,
